The origin and four cardinal neighbours are 8x8. Everywhere else uses square world rings: let layer=max(2,abs(x),abs(y)), giving 16x16 throughout ring 2, 32x32 in ring 3, 64x64 in ring 4, and so on. Private founding starts at 64x64. Wood and stone survey costs scale with area; additional planks, bricks and iron enter at larger sizes. Minimum quality rises with every size tier: Q1 at 8×8, Q2 at 16×16, Q4 at 32×32, Q8 at 64×64, continuing with side/8. Surveys beyond 16x16 require community metallurgy. plan-survey {direction,name,access} opens a supply project at the departure edge/coast; supply-survey {founder,item,quantity} deposits only needed matching-quality supplies; reclaim-survey returns only your own unspent contribution while physically present. The founder issues claim with the recorded settings after funding. A road or dock and owned boat are still required. New surveys occupy room-sized spatial footprints flush to the selected edge segment: one 32x32 edge can meet two 16x16 lands, continuing two-to-one at larger sizes. Existing lands and route endpoints remain intact. Travel, establish-route, board-ship and regional haul-cart accept a target land ID when several destinations share a direction; queue steps preserve this target. Survey from the desired part of the facing shore; overlapping existing or pending footprints are rejected before supplies are spent. Sparse rooms are deterministic and materialize as explored; current supported side limit is 65536.
